The members of The Cure first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album, Three Imaginary Boys (1979), and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. After the release of 1982’s Pornography, the band’s future was uncertain and frontman Robert Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had cultivated. With the 1982 single “Let’s Go to Bed” Smith began to inject more of a pop sensibility into the band’s music. The Cure’s popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States, where the songs “Just Like Heaven”, “Lovesong” and “Friday I’m in Love” entered the Billboard Top 40 charts. By the start of the 1990s, The Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world and have sold an estimated 27 million albums as of 2004.As of 2007, The Cure have released twelve studio albums and over thirty singles, with a thirteenth album due in October 2008.

What is a cure for bleeding gums without going to the dentist?
I have bleeding gums when I brush my teeth. I don’t brush them everyday, I am too lazy. I know thats wrong, I should and I will start. I would brush my teeth about once a month. I chew chewing gum regalurly. I know this is bad. So when I brush my gums bleed, not much though. I know this is a sign of gum diease. I really hate going to the dentist. Is there any way I can cure this without going to the dentist?

How do I cure a fish that has cloudy eye?
I have a goldfish with an eye that has turned completely white on the inside of his lens. I thought it might have been a minor wound that would heal itself–but it hasn’t though. What’s the best thing I can do to cure his cloudy eye problem? And I have kept my fish tank clean.

It was also their first chart single in the UK, reaching #31. The lyrics tell a vague story about a man looking for a girl in a forest. He hears her calling for him, and as he chases her, he suddenly stops and realizes that he is lost and that the girl is not there. The song is fairly upbeat compared to the other material on the album, and Lol Tolhurst’s machine-like steady beat together with Simon Gallup’s minimalistic bassline gives this nervous chase more depth and keeps the song on the edge of a frantic groove until the end. Though not their biggest hit, it is regarded by many fans and critics as one of the best examples of The Cure’s sound, particularly their use of chorusing effects. The song is also notable for securing the band its first slot on BBC’s Top of the Pops. The track has been re-recorded a number of times by The Cure. In 1990 the track was re-recorded and remixed as the “Tree mix” on the band’s “Mixed Up” album.
