This is just another tune that was one of those that has been forever in my head, and being a southern gal, magnolias and New Orleans are close to my heart…with all the destruction in New Orleans from the hurricanes…I just wanted to make a tribute to the people and the city…as they continue to recover. I used the animated image of the soft summer breeze and the water moving with much hesitation….and, the more I watch this, I realize why….I ran across the image quite by accident and thought it would work, but it is pretty poor quality…so excuse that little jumping image..I will be much more selective next time…lol.. JJ Cale (born John Weldon Cale on December 5, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma[1]) is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and musician best known for writing two songs that Eric Clapton made famous, “After Midnight” and “Cocaine”, as well as the Lynyrd Skynyrd hits “Call Me the Breeze” and ” I Got the Same Old Blues”. Some sources incorrectly give his real name as “Jean Jacques Cale”. In fact, a Sunset Strip nightclub owner employing Cale in the mid-1960s came up with the “JJ” moniker to avoid confusion with the Velvet Underground’s John Cale.[2] In the 2006 documentary, To Tulsa and Back: On Tour with JJ Cale, Rocky Frisco tells the same version of the story mentioning the other John Cale but without further detail.
